LED Series Resistor Calculator: Resistor Value, Color Code & Circuit Diagram

Hello and warm greetings to everyone! I am M.A. Mustafa from Ornate Pixels. To make your daily bench testing and electronic circuit repairs faster, easier, and error-free, I developed this interactive LED Series Resistor & Circuit Diagram Calculator for technicians, hobbyists, and circuit designers.

Whether you are designing custom LED lighting, modifying power supplies, or replacing individual LEDs, this smart online tool automatically calculates the exact current-limiting resistor value and required wattage, and displays the official 4-band resistor color code, along with dynamic wiring and schematic diagrams.

LED Series Resistor & Diagram Calculator

Calculation Results:

Required Resistor Value: 0 Ω (Standard: 0 Ω)

Resistor Power Rating: 0 Watt (Recommended: 0 Watt)

Resistor Color Code: -

📘 How to Use the LED Calculator:

  • Power Supply Voltage (V): Enter your input DC power source voltage (e.g., 5V, 12V, or 24V).
  • LED Voltage Drop (V): Input the forward voltage of your LED (typically 1.8V - 3.3V depending on the LED color).
  • LED Current Rating (mA): Enter the operating current rating of the LED in milliamps (commonly 20mA for standard LEDs).
  • Number of LEDs in Series: Specify how many LEDs are connected together in series.
  • Select Diagram Mode: Choose between Wiring Diagram (for visual pictorial view) or Schematic Diagram (for technical circuit symbol layout).
  • Calculate: Click on the "Design Circuit Diagram" button to get your exact standard resistor resistance (Ω), power rating (W), color band codes, and an instant visual circuit diagram!
